Rick Bentham’s solo exhibition with KilcockArt Gallery will open in May 2009
From the exciting world of Hollywood Animation Studios U.S.A. to tranquil peaceful county Wicklow where he now lives, this is the route that the artist Rick Bentham has taken in his career as a professional artist.
Rick is an Irish Canadian, graduated from Vancouver College of Art in 1977.
He has worked in Phoenix, Arizona and Los Angeles, California on animated films such as “Anastasia” for 20th Century Fox and “An American Tail” produced by Stephen Spielberg.
Rick received the Canada Council Award for a series of paintings based on Canadian Indian Mythology.
His paintings were exhibited in Madison Square Gardens, New York USA in 1982.
His genre paintings are inspired by the beauty of the area that he feels fortunate to live in, such as the Irish coastline and the people who engage in a myriad of work and play activities. His wife and young family appear constantly in his work. These paintings are immediate and sensitively painted in a traditionally realistic technique.
Rick’s last two solo exhibitions with Kilcock Art Gallery were ‘sell-out’ shows!
